Through reinvested profits and funding accessed via the Just Transition and Digitalization programs for 2025, the company continues to invest in technological development and sustainability. 2015

Expanding through innovation: GIP adds tempered and laminated glass to its growing portfolio

Following its success in the PVC joinery and insulated glass sectors, GIP continued to invest—using both European funding and reinvested profits—in modern glass processing technologies. As a result, the company began producing tempered and laminated glass, meeting the demands of the construction market and expanding its product portfolio. This diversification has further strengthened GIP's position as a market leader locally.
2009

Boosting production capacity: GIP increases output of insulated glass units

In 2009, by accessing European funds, GIP acquired high-performance equipment for the glass sector and built new production halls. This allowed the company to begin cutting and processing large-format jumbo glass sheets (6000x3210 mm), as well as producing insulated glass units using advanced washing, assembling, pressing, and sealing lines. This investment contributed to the strengthening and expansion of the company’s production capabilities.
2007

GIP invests in innovation with a new high-tech PVC joinery production line

In 2007, GIP commissioned an advanced technological line for PVC joinery production, which included a cutting center, a processing center, and a 4-head welding machine, all with numerical control, as well as software for quoting and production management. This enabled GIP to manufacture high-quality PVC joinery, and this expansion significantly strengthened the company’s portfolio, offering complete solutions for both residential clients and commercial projects. The decision was driven by the growing demand for efficient and sustainable solutions in construction.
1999

PVC joinery expansion: GIP embraces a new phase of diversification

In 1999, GIP made the decision to diversify its operations by expanding into PVC and aluminum joinery production. This move involved acquiring the first machinery for processing these materials, in response to market demand for replacing old joinery, balcony renovations, and the construction of new buildings. This step marked an important milestone in the company’s adaptation to the ever-changing market needs.
1997

The first steps in insulated glass production

In 1997, the first steps were taken in insulated glass production with the acquisition of the first cutting, washing, and sealing equipment. Although the production capacity was limited, the demands of the local market at that time made this start-up successful and promising. The dimensions of the glass sheets produced were adapted to the specific needs of the market, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the company.
1991

Registration of the 361st private company in Dolj: A significant step in the development of the regional business environment

In 1991, GIP was founded as an innovative company, becoming the only factory in Romania specialized in the metallization of flat glass and automotive glass. The GIP associates invested both financial capital and a great deal of intellectual and physical effort, laying the foundation for cutting-edge technology. As a result, the company quickly established itself as a national leader, offering products and services with unique features, meeting the highest performance standards.
